    Requirements for Nauru Citizenship by Investment Program

    General Requirements

    Good Health

    Applicants should be in good health and of sound mind.

    A good health means that they do not have any contagious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis or typhus.

    High-risk countries

    An applicant should not be a citizen of Iran, North Korea or Myanmar at the moment of application, as well as after becoming a citizen of Nauru.

    Failure to meet such a criteria will result in cancellation of the citizenship.

    Clean Criminal Record

    Every applicant above 16 years of age should have a clean criminal record. For the purpose of application process the imprisonment of less then 12 months is acceptable.

    An applicant should provide a criminal record certificate from every country where he/she has been residing for the period of at least 6 months in the past 10 years.

    Source of Funds

    The principle applicant should be able to provide proof of funds in order to make a contribution.

    Only legal source of funds are acceptable.

    Eligibility Requirements

    Investor

    • Age: be at least 18 years of age.
    • Financial Stability: be able to finance a significant contribution in the full amount.

    Children

    • Both biological or adopted children of the principal applicant or their spouse could apply for Nauru Citizenship.
    • Children meeting the following requirements could be considered: (1) child under 18 y.o.; (2) child of any age, if physically or mentally challenged; or (3) child under 30 y.o., unmarried and financially supported by the main applicant.

    Parents

    • Parents of the main applicant and their spouse are eligible for the application.
    • Parents should be above 55 y.o. and fully financially supported by the investor.

    Spouse

    • Only monogamous marriage is acceptable.
    •  Partnership (or civil union) without official registration of a marriage is also acceptable.

    Siblings

    • Both siblings of the investor as well as of their spouse are considered for the Nauru citizenship.
    • There is no limitation with regards to the age of siblings, provided that they are not married and have never been married before.

    Grandparents

    • Grandparents of the main applicant and their spouse are eligible for the application.
    • Grandparents should be above 55 y.o. and fully financially supported by the investor.

    How to apply for  Nauru Citizenship by Investment Program? 

    Documents Required

    • passport and all national ID cards;
    • criminal clearance certificate;
    • medical certificate;
    • birth certificate;
    • marriage certificate (if any); and
    • other documents on request from the Program Office.

    Expected Duration: up to 30 days

    Preparation of Documents

    We will guide you through the whole application process and will communicate with the Nauru Program Office on your behalf to ensure the process remains as smooth and as fast as possible.

    Please note that ordering certain documents from government institutions (e.g. criminal record certificate) can take some time. Everything depends on how fast the local authorities can provide a document in question. For example, in one country to produce a criminal certificate can take up to 7 days, while in another it can take up to 1 month.

    Submission of Documents to the Program Office

    Prior to submitting the documents to the Program Office, the applicant is required to pay application and due diligence fees upfront. Once it is done, all the requested documents along with proof of payment of the fees could be submitted.

    One of benefits Nauru citizenship program is that all the documents could be submitted 100 % remotely. The Program Office has 90 days since the recipe of the application to adopt the decision. During the period of time the Program Office along with independent international due diligence firms will verify each profile to ensure the candidate’s clean personal background.

    As a part of application process, the main applicant and all his dependents above 16 y.o. could be invited for an interview with the Program’s representatives. The interview will be performed online in the applicant’s native language. The purpose of the interview to verify a candidate’s profile in more detail.

    Step 3 -

    Expected Duration: up to 30 days

    Decision on the Application

    Upon review of the application, the Program Office can adopt either of the following decision:

    – approval;

    – refusal; or

    – delay for cause.

    If the application is approved, the Program Office will issue a letter of approval in principal within the next 5 days since the approval.

    After that, the applicant has 30 days to make a sustainable development contribution in the amount prescribed in the table above. On top of that you would be also required to pay additional fees such as passport and courier dispatch fees.

    Step 4 -

    Expected Duration: up to 30 days

    Certificate of Citizenship

    Once all the payments are settled, the applicant will be invited to take an oath. An oath could be taken in front of a notary public in any country, where the applicant is currently residing.

    After that the certificate of citizenship will be issued. The certificate of citizenship should be further submitted to the passport office to issue the Nauru travel document.
